Welcome to Chat French. By accessing or using our website, memberships, or online classes (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use Chat French.

1. About Chat French

Chat French provides online, small-group French conversation practice sessions for intermediate learners. Our services are educational and conversational in nature and do not provide formal certification or guaranteed outcomes.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to use our Services.

3. Memberships & Payments

• Chat French operates on a subscription-based model, billed monthly unless otherwise stated.

• Membership pricing, features, and session availability may change with reasonable notice.

• Payments are processed through third-party payment providers. Chat French does not store full credit card details.

• Memberships renew automatically unless cancelled before the next billing date.

  Third-Party Platforms

  Chat French uses third-party platforms, including Acuity Scheduling for session booking and Zoom for live session delivery.

  By using our Services, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Booking, scheduling, and session reminders are managed through Acuity Scheduling

  • Live sessions are hosted via Zoom video conferencing

  • Access to sessions is subject to the availability, functionality, and policies of these third-party platforms

  Chat French is not responsible for service interruptions, outages, or technical issues caused by Acuity, Zoom, or other third-party providers.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

• You may cancel your membership at any time through your account or billing portal.

• Cancellation prevents future billing but access continues until the end of the current billing period.

• Refunds are not guaranteed, except where required by law or explicitly stated (for example, a promotional money-back guarantee).

• Missed or unused sessions are not refundable.

5. Session Rules & Conduct

To ensure a respectful and productive environment, you agree to:

• Treat tutors and other participants with respect

• Avoid harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour

• Not record sessions without explicit permission from Chat French and all participants

Chat French reserves the right to remove participants or terminate memberships without refund for violations of these rules.

Virtual Sessions & Technology Requirements

You are responsible for having:

• A stable internet connection

• A functioning microphone and camera (where applicable)

• Basic familiarity with Zoom

Chat French is not responsible for missed sessions due to technical issues on the participant’s side, including internet failure or inability to access Zoom.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, session formats, materials, and website content are the intellectual property of Chat French. You may not copy, distribute, record, or resell any part of the Services without written permission.

7. Disclaimer

Chat French does not guarantee fluency, exam results, employment outcomes, or specific language proficiency gains. Results vary based on individual effort, attendance, and practice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chat French shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Services at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and applicable provincial laws.
