Hi, I’m Rohail, the founder of Chat French! I created Chat French for learners who already understand French but don’t get enough opportunities to actually speak it.
I grew up in Ottawa, ON in Canada, and after years of studying French and a lot of trial and error, I was able to successfully achieve fluency in the French language. I became comfortable speaking in informal and also professional environments. What I realized throughout my years of learning French as a native English speaker is that real progress in communication in the language doesn’t come from textbooks, it comes from conversation and immersing yourself in the language.
Chat French focuses on small-group, guided conversation sessions led by native French speakers, designed to help you build confidence and speak more naturally in real-life situations.

Hello and welcome! I’m Marie-Anais, a dedicated Health Sciences student at the University of Ottawa, where my focus on psychology fuels my passion for meaningful communication. I facilitate supportive and structured French conversations designed to build your confidence and fluency in a relaxed environment.
When I'm not studying, I'm probably crocheting something, dancing to Latin music, or diving into a good book. I love learning new things, and I'm excited to share that energy with you as we chat. Let's make French fun! Parlons français!
Sabrina MacDougall
Native French Conversation Facilitator
Hello, my name is Sabrina. I’m from the city of Pembroke and I am Franco-Ontarian. I earned a bachelor’s degree from Trent University, with a major in French and a minor in Biology. I am currently pursuing a Primary Education program at the University of Ottawa. Outside of my studies, I enjoy traveling, staying active, and spending time in nature. I’m looking forward to meeting you and connecting with you!
Louis-Philippe Gagnon,

My name is Louis-Philippe. I was born in Chicoutimi, Quebec, but have since lived all over Canada, notably in places like Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Montreal, Quebec, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and now Ottawa, Ontario. Living across Canada has allowed me to visit and study incredibly diverse cultures and backgrounds as well as various francophones from across the globe! Similarly, my passion for travel has taken me to 26 countries (and counting), with hopes to visit many more in the years to come.
While I currently study Economics and Political Science at the University of Ottawa, my interests include a wide range of subjects. My goal is to curate strong french conversations on a variety of topics with the ultimate objective of improving your french in a fun and welcoming environment! I look forward to seeing you in my sessions.
